"God loves the sinner but hates the sin" is NOT a biblical context. It is NOT from God's mouthpiece but rather from a human being, and yet we have somehow made it the basic and foundation of our salvation whereas the bible clearly states that God hates sin and the sinner but loves a repentant heart. Genesis 24? God loved Jacob but hated Esau, both were the work of His hands but for some reason He loved the other and hated the other. Bare in mind that both the sons of Isaac were the descents of Abraham a blessed generation. Meaning your actions, disobedience and contradicting God's word can make God hate you. It might sound absurd for God to hate a person but Psalms 5:5 says that God hates the workers of inquity. Inquity is sin, the bad habits, injustice, not repenting when you've done wrong and so forth, so when He says He hates the doers of such He's not speaking to animals but to us people. Therefore being a doer of iniquity automatically puts you amongst the hated or damned (the condemned) REPENT OR PERISH It might sound absurd for God to hate a person He created, and the knowledge that we sin daily shouldn't put you off. One of the principles in God's Kingdom is repent or perish. Luke 13 v5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.” THE ISSUE ISN'T COMING AS YOU BUT STAYING AS YOU ARE This one is for our church fellas. We claim to have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus and that we are new creatures but our attitudes, personalities and characters are those same old we had before. All of this is evident in our speech and in the tiniest things, like how we dress. As the church, we've become so loose that there's not much of a difference from someone who's clubbing and us at church. Our characters and lifestyles prove that there's no difference between a sinner and a believer, we now have the same standards. We have to ask ourselves the question, "Am I an ordinary or extraordinary Christian?" What makes an extraordinary Christian can really be described by reacting with love to day-to-day tests (a reaction that is far different from that of a non-believer) Salvation goes far beyond the sinner's prayer, there are people who think they've gained the access to heaven just of that one prayer. After the sinner's prayer one has to lead a life of repentance on a daily, every day is another chance to get it. A lot of us are anxious on the the second coming of Jesus which shouldn't really mean we forever look out in the sky for Him to appear but rather to use the chance that the Almighty has granted us to ensure that we get it right so that we will be guaranteed to join in worshipping Him for eternity. THE WRATH OF GOD IS REAL Psalm 7:11 says that “God is a just judge. And God is angry with the wicked every day." We've created this corny and cheesy "God" for ourselves that we don't talk about His wrath. Some of us think hell is unreal and it is impossible for God to hate or be angered because "He is a loving God", which He is but there wouldn't be love if there wasn't hate. For instance, I love discipline but I hate immorality. God loves and He hates, He loves good and hates bad. God has given all chances to make it right with Him and yes, hell exists not merely because of His absence but because of His wrath and when the chances to right the wrongs is gone the wrath of God will take over and it is perfect and just and right. Hell is so real, we tend to dismiss the idea of hell of when we think of heaven. Just as heaven is promised for those deserving, so is hell to those who worked for it. GOD'S PERFECT GRACE UPON MEN Grace is love, undeserving favour that is not equivalent to that of mere humans or how we describe it. When speaking of God's love, we're speaking of the truth so when He gives you the truth He's basically showering you with love and automatically giving you another chance to get it right. That's a demonstration of mercy;when God is giving you knowledge. He says ,"My people perish because of lack of knowledge" God's desire isn't for us to know more on how to access our financial breakthroughs and such but He wants to grow in knowing Him. If anything, God created us out of love, that we too, may join that "love circle" He has, there in the Trinity so the coming of Jesus shouldn't freak us out but motivate us to be position ourselves in God so that when He comes we might be found right with and in a state to celebrate.
